When we discovered last Winter that we were "unexpectedly expecting", Mamie and Papa generously offered to care for Gabriel for the following 5-months, while Mommy returned to work. Every morning Gabriel would be dropped off at their home for a fun-filled day. He played at the park or in the backyard, went to playgroup, gymnastics class, phonics class and helped Mamie and Papa with their special chores such as gardening and washing the car with lots of suds and a spray hose! At the end of each day Gabriel was always excited to see Mommy or Daddy, but also had so much to tell us about what he had learned.
In preparation for our South African adventure, our family needed to move out of our home almost two months earlier than anticipated. Again, Mamie and Papa VERY generously opened their home to all of us. For the past 8-weeks or so they have shared their home and their lives with us, cooked for us, cleaned for us, entertained Gabriel and helped us with many baby-related chores as we have waited to board our flight. Wesley has joked about the arrangement being "Every grown man's dream: living in his in-laws' basement." But joking aside, we have felt so welcomed and blessed throughout the entire time. What peace of mind for the Moore family!
Love,
Wesley, Karyne, Gabriel & Adrien
